I currently live and work in Louisiana. In July of 2019 I will finish my current job and be a free agent of sorts until I decide to settle down at another job.

I bought a house in September of 2017 and spend most of my time on home remodeling and redesigning.

I read A LOT. When I say this I don’t mean to sound arrogant. I know there are other people that read more. However, compared to just 6 years ago, when I wouldn’t have been caught dead with a book… You get the point. I’m currently reading Lila: An Inquiry Into Morals. Zen being the namesake for this blog I needed to knock this one out.

I have been on a quest to see all 50 U.S. states. I have ten left and hope to finish within the next year.

I’m working on a variety of writing projects, from a humorous book about life with a flip-phone to a fictional work on addiction and recovery.

Simplification has been my watch word for some time. Every day I try to simplify a different part of my life. Lately I have been working on letting go of relationships that aren’t mutually beneficial (i.e. if the only thing I ever do is hurt someone it’s probably time for both of us to move on).

After dealing with knee injuries for the last three years, I am recovering and trying to “injury-proof” my body so I can stop missing out on what I love: activity. Right now this involves swimming, cycling, and doing a lot of lower body isolation/strengthening.
